Queens Park heritage houses are not modern houses
New Westminster has the largest concentration of pre-1920 homes in Metro Vancouver, and Queens Park in particular is full of them. Older buildings, older ventilation
Much of the Uptown and Brow of the Hill rental stock was built long before modern ventilation standards, with bathrooms that vent poorly and kitchens that vent into the room. That produces persistent grease film on upper cabinets and mildew at ceiling lines that ordinary cleaning never fully clears.
